Honesty is the foundation of trust. In the digital world, it also includes checking news, refusing to alter context to strengthen a story, and not presenting a personal opinion as fact.
Honesty does not mean saying everything we know; privacy and safety may require silence. It does mean refusing to say what we know is untrue.
How do we live it?
- Include the source when sharing information.
- Correct an error publicly if you published it publicly.
- Do not exaggerate achievement.
- Do not promise what you cannot deliver.
- Say “I do not know” when necessary.
